This illustration is for an article in Amelia's Magazine about the 2013 graduates from the London College of Fashion. You can see the dress created by Sarah Buchanan that it is based on below.
It made me think back to the Book of the Dead exhibition at the British Museum that I saw a couple of years ago and of Ancient Eygptian Gods such as Rah the falcon headed sun God but also Stargate and sci-fi, so .... Ancient Egyptian Gods in space, pretty logical yeah? Obviously I wanted my central character to be female and this led me on a path of research towards the Goddess Bestet.
